13/01/18 Professor Michael Rubinstein (University of North Carolina, USA), invited by the Michelin Chair, will be visiting MMC laboratory till January (...)
ESPCI ParisTech and Michelin invite you to an international workshop on ”Flow, Fracture, Interfaces in Soft Heterogeneous Materials”, which will take place at ESPCI ParisTech on December 9th and 10th, 2013. This workshop is a follow-up of the successful meeting which was organized in December 2010.
This two day workshop targets chemists, material scientists, physicists and engineers interested in the development, processing, and applications of soft heterogeneous materials. These materials are characterized by the presence of topological constraints, composition fluctuations, and interactions between solid interfaces at multiple scales. Controlling these heterogeneities opens new routes to develop unique materials with tailored properties. The workshop will emphasize the connection between mesoscale architecture and interactions, damage mechanisms, disorder, and macroscopic properties such as flow, fracture, adhesion and friction.
The workshop will consist of invited lectures, keynotes lectures and a poster session. Students and postdoctoral researchers are strongly encouraged to submit abstracts for the poster session.
